You can help support Cowgirl Spirit's efforts by spreading the word about our organization and the amazing horses we have rescued.
Here are some ways you can help!!!
- Print out a few copies of our flyer and distribute to your tack shop and other local businesses
- Put out a donation jar for Cowgirl Spirit at your next party or event
- Copy and paste the "Letter from the Horses" (below) into an email to your mailing list
- Ask friends and family to make contributions to Cowgirl Spirit in lieu of gifts on your next birthday
Letter From the Horses
"Straight from the 'Horse's Mouth': Horse rescue charity in need of a boost!"
Dear Caring Humans:
We are the horses that would have been sold for slaughter, but the wonderful women (and men) of Cowgirl Spirit Rescue Drill Team saved us. Then they kept caring for us, and training us, for months, and we are getting happy and healthy -- and well-mannered -- and will go to our very own new homes soon! BUT we just heard the humans talking, and found out that now they need help. The humans are very, very worried about how to keep feeding us, and fixing our mouths and hooves, because they are very short of something they called "money". (It is like food, I think, because it is green, but it doesn't "grow on trees", like apples, or in the pasture, like grass. Instead of eating it, humans trade it to other humans for better-tasting, healthier stuff that we really do get to eat!)We heard them talking about exciting ways they will be getting "donations" of this money stuff, but those events, like a special training clinic, and a Fun Show, are months away. Because we all "eat like a horse" it costs them lots of money to feed us through the spring. They really need money to help them keep us healthy NOW until their "future" events get them money that can keep them going smoothly. (We know what the word "future" means now, because when they saved us they gave each of us one!)
We'd really, really appreciate it if each of you reading this gave just a few pieces of this "money" to the humans to help them -- actually, to help us! And then please send our letter to any other nice people you know. We heard them say that the money caring humans give is "deductible" (that sounded like a good thing) on something called "income tax returns" (they said those words like it was something they didn'tlike) because they are a "501(c)3" (that sounded important).
They didn't want to ask especially like this, because they and the other humans all of htem know have already helped us a lot. But I guess this is like a fence that humans have to jump over, so they can get to a place called "a better financial situation". (We don't know what that means, but the humans looked happy again when they said it!) So we decided to write and ask for them.
