Salsa

Arabian mare (14 year old)

Salsa is a beautiful Arabian mare that was saved from the feedlot in Eastern Washington. She was hard to place as she is very aggressive towards her handlers when in the pasture. She will pin her ears and charge at you. We took this mare in as she was a high risk of being shipped to slaughter. Since she's been home, we have started her training. Once under halter, she is sweet, easy going and very willing to learn. She does not appear to be saddle broke, as when I first saddled her she bucked and snorted. She now accepts a saddle willingly and has learned to lunge. Depending on how her training goes will depend on if we will use her for the 2006 competition season!
